Jeff Reel is currently Vice President & Assistant General Counsel for ATP Tour, Inc. in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida and has worked for ATP for over sixteen years. ATP is the sanctioning body of the men's professional tennis circuit and governs over 60 tournaments in more than 30 countries each year. In his capacity as Assistant General Counsel, Mr. Reel has been involved in drafting and negotiating a wide variety of ATP's contracts. They include sponsorship agreements, such as the ATP's primary sponsor agreement with Mercedes-Benz, and other sponsorship agreements with entities such as MasterCard, JP Morgan Chase Bank, Barclays Bank, Rolex, Ricoh Electronics, Club Med, Head Rackets, Penn Tennis Balls and Waterford Crystal. He has also been involved in drafting and negotiating various licensing contracts such as ATP's apparel agreements with adidas, Fila and Lacoste along with the ATP's other licensing arrangements. Mr. Reel has also been responsible for a number of ATP's event contracts such as the promoter agreement for the Tennis Masters Cup (the ATP's year-end championship currently held in Shanghai , China ), ATP FanFests and the Smash Tennis program (a traveling interactive street festival geared towards kids that is done in conjunction with the Cartoon Network). He has additional experience with player endorsement contracts, broadcaster agreements (ESPN, CBS, Fox, Eurosport), internet arrangements and contests/prize give-aways. Mr. Reel is also responsible for all of ATP's intellectual property matters.
Mr. Reel became an Adjunct Professor at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2006 and teaches a course on legal issues related to sports sponsorships and marketing. Mr. Reel received his B.A. in Political Science in 1988 from Wittenberg University . In 2000, he received his J.D. from Florida Coastal School of Law graduating with honors in the top 10 of his graduating class.
Mr. Reel is also a Board Member of the Jacksonville Regional chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, a member of the Florida Bar Sports and Entertainment Section and is also on the Board of Directors of the Alliance for the Lost Boys of Sudan.
